Once upon a time, all the feelings and qualities of the human beings gathered in a certain place on the Earth.
When Boredom had yawned third time, Madness, as crazy as usual, proposed: "Why wont we play Hide and seek"?
Intrigue wondering raised its eyebrows and Curiosity wasn't able to hold on asked: Hide and seek? And how is that?"
It is a game, - Madness explained, - where I close my eyes and start counting from one to one million, while you all hide. And when I finish counting, the first of you I find going to replace me for continue playing.
Enthusiasm started to dance followed by Euphoria. Joy jumped so much that finally convinced Doubt along with Apathy, which has never been interested in anything. But not everyone wanted to participate. Truth preferred not to hide... what for, it always was to be found And Arrogance though that it was a very silly game. But the real reason was that it felt irritated due to the idea, which wasnt proper. And Cowardice cowardice preferred not to risk.
"1, 2, 3, ... ," - Madness started counting.
The first one to hide was the Laziness, as a matter of habit it let itself fall on the stone just behind. Faith ascent to the sky and Envy hided behind the shadow of Triumph, which managed to climb on the top of the highest tree without anybody's help.
Generosity almost couldnt hide: each place it had founded seemed wonderful to it for some of its friends: a crystalline lake - the best for Beauty; a tree split - perfect for Shyness, if a butterfly flight - the most suitable for Sensuality, if a wind gust - magnificent for Liberty. Thus it ended by hiding behind a tiny sunbeam.
Egoism, instead, found a very good place. It found it since the beginning: breezy, comfortable, but just for it. Lie hided deep in the ocean; no! That it was behind the rainbow. And Passion and Desire inside the volcanoes. Oblivion oh! I forgot where it hided.
But well, this is not the important thing. When Madness was counting: "999.999!" Love still hadnt found a place to hide. Everything was occupied. But suddenly it saw a rose tree and decided to hide among its flowers.
One million!, - Madness said and started to seek.
Laziness was the first one to be discovered, just three step far from the stone. Then everyone could hear Faith discussing with God about zoology. Passion and Desire were felt in the vibration of the volcanoes. Soon it found Envy, and thanks to it, Madness could guess where Triumph was hided. It didnt need to seek for Egoism, because it ran out of its hiding place which turned out to be a nest of wasps. Madness became thirsty of walking so much, and passing by a lake it discovered Beauty. It was much easier with Doubt, it was found sitting on a fence, not having decided yet on which side of it to hide. One by one all of them were found. Talent with the fresh grass. Anguish in a dark cave. Lie behind the rainbow No, I'm lying! It was in the deep ocean! And, even the Oblivion which had already forgotten that they were playing "Hide and seek".
But only Love didnt appear anywhere. Madness looked for it behind every tree, under every small river of the planet, on the top of the mountains, and, when it was about to give up, it saw a rose tree and its flowers It took a pitchfork and started to move the branches, when, suddenly, a painful cry was heard. The thorns had damaged Loves eyes Madness didnt know what to do for apologizing it cried, it asked for forgiveness, it implored it even promised to become its guide.
Since then, since the first time that "Hide and seek" was played on the Earth, Love is blind and Madness always goes with it.
